My Trash Picking Update

This "Daily" wording is getting tricky. It is more like "monthly". I am spending so much time posting freebies and daily deals that I do not has as much time to come here and just share.

But I wanted to follow up on the post about "One Man's Trash is Another Man's Treasure" and show you a picture of my creation. I went crazy with the spray paint and made this butterfly pop! Just to think the poor thing was just sitting by the curb waiting for a new coat of paint and a new home!

How many of us buy an item when it is on sale, even if we will not need to use it right away? We have been told to be smart shoppers and buy when the price is low so we are not stuck needing it when the price is high. This is an old saying, but very true. How many times have you taken something offered to you from a friend who did not want it anymore? Thrift Stores, Garage Sales, EBay, Craig's List, dumpster diving. All ways to get items others no longer want or need.

We have been enjoying a lovely week in Sedona, AZ. I have challenged myself and my family to stay on a budget this vacation and so far it is working. As I get older I find Christmas less and less enjoyable. Am I becoming a scrooge in my old age? I am tired of the meaning of CHRISTmas being all about presents and spending money. I have used coupons for years, but I must say I am not one of the experts. I have a coupon organizer, but I ran into a lady at the store a few weeks ago that had a binder and each page had 4 compartments. Wow, now she was organized. I know many ladies that will make extra trips to other stores to use coupons. I just have not put that much into it.
