When I heard about Breaking Cover, I was very intrigued to read it. I have never read a true story about someone who worked for the CIA. The fact that it was a woman, who is a Christian, made me even more curious. I loved the beginning of the book, learning more about Michelle Assad and she ended up working for the CIA.

The story them moves into the years that she and her husband Joseph worked in the Middle East, right in the middle of war. I have to admit that those chapters left me feeling uncomfortable. This was their reality and she shared it in a very real way, but I wanted to learn more about what God was doing in their lives.

As the story goes on, we see them both quit the CIA and learn how God orchestrated them helping 149 Christians find refuge in Slovak. By far, for me, that was the best part of the book.

If you love stories about how God moves his people, and do not mind hearing about war, this would be a book I would recommend.

I received a copy of this book to review. All opinions are 100% mine.
