I just love scones, but for some reason I do not make them that often.  This week I had a craving for them and I know that one batch goes really fast in my house.  So, I had my daughter, Haley, make a batch as well.  I will take all the opportunities available to bond with a 16 year old :)

I have tried a few different recipes in the past, but I still love the Bisquick recipe:

Chocolate Chip Scones

2 Cups of Bisquick
1/2 cup of Chocolate Chips
1/3 cup of Heavy Cream
1 Egg
3 Tablespoons of Sugar
1 Teaspoon of Vanilla
Additional Cream and Sugar

Heat oven to 425°F. Spray cookie sheet with cooking spray or grease with shortening. Stir Bisquick mix, chocolate chips, 1/3 cup whipping cream, 3 tablespoons sugar, the egg and vanilla in medium bowl until soft dough forms.

Pat into 8-inch circle on cookie sheet (if dough is sticky, dip fingers in Bisquick mix). Brush circle with additional whipping cream; sprinkle with additional sugar. Cut into 8 wedges, but do not separate.

Here is what my daughter's scone looked like before we baked it.

Bake about 12 minutes or until golden brown; carefully separate. Serve warm.
