Summer is all about reading for me.  I have about 10 books on my shelf that I really want to try to get read.  We will see how far I get!  One book I was able to finish reading just yesterday was Faith and Other Flat Tires by Andrea Palpant Dilley.  She grew up in Kenya, as the daughter of Quaker missionaries and they then moved to Spokane, Washington.  The book shares some of her younger years, but the main years of focus are the years right after high school.  It is a very frank account of a Christian questioning and looking for something more.  She she says, "This book tells the story of what came of my search.  It is written for people who, like me, find themselves driven by doubt and wandering the margins in search of a place to call home."

It was an easy read for me.  If you enjoy biographies you will enjoy this book.  If you can relate to any of what I quoted from her above it is a must read.  Or if you know someone who has walked away from church this will give you insight and would be a wonderful book to pass along to them.
