I just love to visit home decorating blogs.  The ladies are so creative and their homes look beautiful.  One of the big themes is to change out your mantle or other area in your home for each season.  While I would love to do that, I really do not want to spend a lot of time or money to create something that will be seen for a short amount of time and mainly by us :)

With fall right around the corner (September 22nd), I thought it would be fun to see what I could create on the cheap.  Subway art has been really popular for a few years now.  You can find a lot of free printables online to decorate your home.  The picture above is actually from the latest edition of Every Day with Rachael Ray.  I already had a black frame just sitting in my cabinet so I pulled it out and put the page in the frame.  The candle I picked up at Salvation Army about a month ago for $.70!  Always think ahead when you are out thrifting.  Dollar stores are another wonderful resource for inexpensive decorating items.

The next thing I wanted to try was making a wreath.  It is another one of those items that home decor bloggers are so creative with.  I picked up this wreath form at a thrift store about 4 months ago.  I attempted to make a fun spring wreath at that time, but had a mental block and the wreath form went in the closet.  This time I had a little more success and can you believe I had everything I needed to make this?  Everyone that knows me knows I hate clutter and have no problem throwing stuff away, so for me to have these items around to create this wreath has got to mean that you can create one with items around your home too!

I would love to see your fall decor and the story behind it.  It might even be highlighted here on MFM!  E-mail me your pictures and details HERE.
