I grew up in the 1980's and remember Scott Hamilton well. I was excited to read his newest book, Finish First. I did not realize that this was more of a self help/inspirational book rather than an autobiography (which I love)!. Although Scott does weave in his own personal story in the book, his goal with this book is to inspire readers to push themselves more. While I grabbed a few nuggets of wisdom from this book, overall I felt it gave a lot of info and not a lot of practical steps. He even writes in this book that he meant it to be broad its application. He writes that "It occurred to me that perhaps you've made it this far in the book and you're still wondering "What am I going to do"?". That is the feeling I had. It was just not specific enough, but I did enjoy learning more about him and his journey.
If you are feeling like you need some inspiration, and are stuck, this might be a great fit for you!
I was given a copy of this book to read and review. All opinions are 100% mine.
