If you have been visiting MFM for awhile, you know I love to read!  It is getting a little harder to squeeze time in to do so lately, but I still try to make it a priority.  Being the mom to a 20 year old and a 16 year old can bring its challenges and I am learning new things all the time.  So, when I saw Love No Matter What - When Your Kids Make Decisions You Don't Agree With, I knew I wanted to read it.  Brenda Garrison has written many books, but this was the first one I have read.

Brenda shares her story as a mom and shares the stories of twelve other families in her book.  I hope this does not sound bad, but some of these stories are heart breaking and it really makes you realize you could have it so much worse.   For me personally, it has been a season of life where I am always second guessing my parenting and wondering if I am doing the right thing.  Brenda gives great practical advice on what to do and when to step back and let your children make mistakes.

I loved this from the book:  "Remember, when it comes to parenting an older child, it's not all about you.  Your child's life is his life - his choices, his consequences.  Roll the burden of that realization where it belongs - on the Lord and your child."
