This is the second book by James Markert that I have read and he did not disappoint! Midnight at the Tuscany Hotel is the story of a family (husband, wife and son) who create and live in a hotel in a fictional town in California in the early 1900's. We are then shot forward to the 1940's, after the death of the month, the son coming back from WWII and the father suffering from memory loss. The story takes us on a journey, both present and past to learn more about this family and the hotel. So engaging and captivating!
If I had anything negative to say, there are a lot of references to mythology in the book. I do not read those stories or have any interest to, so when they were mentioned I felt a bit lost, They are important parts of the book, so I took the time to slow down and make sure I understood the parallels.
If you are looking for a great story, this is it!
I was given a copy of this book to review. All opinions are 100% mine,
