My Big Bottom Blessing Review & Giveaway

I have been spending a lot of time reading lately and I was so pleased to be asked to read My Big Bottom Blessing and to offer all of you a chance to win a copy too!
When I started this book I knew a few things. First, I know that it was a book about a lady trying to lose weight and secondly I know it was a Christian book. So, I was looking forward to reading about her journey. What I found out along the way was that in the end the "happily ever after" part was not that she now is at her goal weight and has maintained it for 10 years, but that instead God showed her that she was important and loved just the way she is and she is now content with the way God made her. What do you think about that? Isn't that a place all of us would love to be in?
She writes about the many personalities that she felt spoke to her during her life. All of them bad influences. She writes about visiting the grocery store and all the perils you will find:
Cookies & Cakes (With embarrassingly loud volume) Girrrrl! Get your fine self on over. We just popped out of the oven. Don't we smell good? Uh-huh. Take a bite. Take another. You come on back around before you leave now, Ya hear?
One of characters she calls Trainer. It is the voice inside that makes her feel worthless. Once she allowed God to speak into the situation here is what she shared.
Trainer: What about those fat arms? Do you love those?
Father God: Yes,I have her those so she could hold My babies and bug My hurting children.
Trainer: What about that flabby stomach? It'sickening.
Father God: I love it, for it is there that she carried three of My children, her body being stretched to do so,. The marks and extra weight she carries are beautiful to Me.
Trainer: Well, did you notice the cottage cheese legs she's got?
Father God: Yes, and I adore those dimples. They are so cute to Me, just as they were when she was a toddler. I gave her those legs so she could carry My love anywhere she wants.
Amazing, right? This book is so inspirational and makes you see your journey of self doubt in an entirely new light. I hope that you will find a copy and be as moved as I was. It also has questions at the end of each chapter to really help you dig deeper. You could also read this book as a group. HERE is a copy of one of the chapters of the books. I highly recommend you read it :) You can also click HERE to listen to an interview with the author.
