Pallet Word Art - Low Cost Way to Decorate

I wanted to share with you our latest wood project. With this project, we went and got a free pallet from Lowes Improvement store. Here is how we created this look:

1) My husband took the pallet apart
2) He used two other pieces of wood on nailed them into the back of the piece running the other direction, creating one solid piece.
3) I painted the front and sides of all the boards a white semi gloss color (something I already had on hand)

Installing A Wood Wall - The Easy Way!

We recently completed our wood wall in our living/dining room and I wanted to share and give you some tips we found along the way.

We looked on line at a lot of tutorial's on wood walls. I was surprised at how many different techniques there are. In the end you need to do what will work best for your budget and skill set. We found the following possibilties:

Wood
Use reclaimed Wood (wood you find from old fences, etc.)
Use pallet wood
Purchase New Wood (this is what we did)

Life of the Party {Review}

The minute I saw this book, Life of the Party, by Bob Kealing, I knew I had to read it! I am a fan of the 1950"s and have been to my fair share of Tupperware parties, and could not wait to learn more about Brownie Wise. She was President of Tupperware during part of the 1950's and really was a big reason for their success in the early years.

The Things We Knew {Book Review}

Hi everyone, back with another book review! I like to mix up my fiction and non-fiction ready as much as possible and decided to choose Catherine West's The Things We Knew.

The story centers around a family from Nantucket, and most specifically around the youngest sister, Lynette. Family history she cannot remember, an old love that is back in the picture and ailing parents, makes this a great summer read! It has everything you would want, but with a spiritual bend that makes it refreshing.

I had the chance to review what I believed to be a Young Adult book, That's Not Hay in My Hair. Come to find out, it really is a book more for the middle school aged crowd. It is a cute story, written by Juliette Turner, who herself is only 17, and is the story of a 5th grade girl who moves from New York City to Texas.
