About a month ago I shared with you some of my dreams for a new kitchen on the cheap.  Well, it is finally getting started and this is all girl power!

Here is what I have done so far:

Taken off all the cabinet doors

It sure looks like like you have a lot more JUNK when the doors are off!  They came off easily but my goodness, the ones above the stove are filthy!  I thought I could just sand the yucky stuff off, but it just ruined a piece of sand paper, so I will have to scrub those two before they get sanded.

I then started to sand

Last year I bought myself a little Dewalt sander on Amazon with credit I received from taking surveys, so it was FREE!  I bought sand paper at the Dollar Tree and have gotten about half way through.  As you can see, the sun is now creeping into my back yard so I will finish the rest off, hopefully this evening, once it is cooler.  Plus, you know us busy moms, I have to stop to finish doing the laundry, take my daughter to the dentist and then help clean the shower of a lady from church!

So, if it is a little quiet around here the next few days you know what I will be doing.  After I finish sanding the doors here is my list:

Sand the drawers and the base of the cabinets
Clean everything with TSP
Start painting the cabinets & then antique them

If you have any tips I would love to hear from you!
